Our research promotes and assists the development of innovative tools through basic and applied research to solve the societal challenges in education, agriculture, health, and telecommunication systems to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals – 2030 (UN SDG 2030) in the global south and the world.
The AIET Lab is particularly focused in
- SDG-1: No Poverty: Access to basic human needs of health, education, sanitation;
- SDG-2: Zero Hunger: Providing food and humanitarian relief, establishing sustainable food production;
- SDG-3: Good Health and Wellbeing: Better, more accessible health systems to increase life-expectancy;
- SDG-4: Quality Education: Inclusive education to enable upward social mobility and end poverty;
- SDG-7. Affordable and Clean Energy: Access to renewable, safe and widely available energy sources for all;
- SDG-9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure: Generating employment and income through innovation and
- SDG-13: Climate Action: Regulating and reducing emissions and promoting renewable energy.
The AIET Lab aim to contribute to the development of evidence –based research to address identified AI and emerging technologies research gaps in achieving the SDG Goals. The AIET Lab provides a platform for north-south and south-south learning to develop collaborative and sustainable research and initiatives, with the aim of benefiting the social and economic development of the population, particularly in the Global Sub-Saharan region.
